The Frame —
All Homestead Outdoor Living Furniture features a fully welded, all aluminum frame construction. We use full circumference welding since it is the strongest
way to join two pieces of aluminum. Our Cast Collection features frames that are either solid cast aluminum or a combination of cast and tubular aluminum. This all aluminum construction enables Homestead Outdoor Living Furniture to be used indoors and outdoors.
The Finish —
Pre-Wash/Pre-Finish
All Homestead Outdoor Living Furniture is prepared for our powder coated
finish by passing through a special pre-wash system which both cleans the
frame and also applies a special finish-bonding agent. This special agent
ensures that the powder coating will adhere uniformly and will not crack,
peel or blister.
Powder Coating
Homestead Outdoor Living’s durable, polyester powder coating is three times thicker than paint. It is applied electrostatically as a powder, then it is baked at temperatures exceeding 400². This causes the powder to melt and flow evenly all
around the frame. Because the powder coating process follows the frame
construction, the entire frame is actually sealed in this powder coating.
Textured finishes are unique to Homestead Outdoor Living and were developed
specifically for use both indoors or outdoors.
The Fabric and Fill —
All of our fabrics whether for slings, cushions or umbrellas are designed
and constructed for outdoor use and are formulated to withstand the
elements. All dry quickly, contain mildew inhibitors and are stain resistant.
(Please note that proper care will extend the life of your fabric.)
All of our cushions feature the finest quality polyester fill. This fill is
designed to dry quickly and retain its loft for years.
Homestead Outdoor Living’s “tight seat” cushions were created to be weather resistant,using outdoor grade materials and utilizing a moisture barrier beneath thefabric covering. Furniture offered for indoor specification is intended for
normal use and thus meets flame retardancy code CA117. All removable
pads and lounge cushions utilize a “drain dry” fill construction.
